At Maple Ridge, we believe that all students should be involved in activities beyond their classrooms. We are pleased to offer a variety of student activities this fall.

Running activities at the secondary level depends on a few things:

  • having a staff advisor/coach
  • having the necessary equipment; and most importantly,
  • having committed students who are going to show up for practices, meetings and games.

What we are able to offer will continue to depend on our student body and our staff. Other activities will come later as we grow and as we are able to engage in fundraising activities to support a fulsome student activities program.

This year, we will be investigating the development of a Maple Ridge contact Football program. Developing a football program takes a tremendous amount of planning and community support. If you would like to be part of the planning process, please contact Vice-Principal, Doug Woods ([email protected]). To support students to develop skills while we are in the planning stages, we will be offering Girls and Boys Flag Football. Girls Flag Football is recognized as an Simcoe County Athletic Association sport and therefore provides competitive cross school opportunities. Unfortunately, Boys Flag Football is not an SCAA sport and therefore will be offered as part of the school Intramural Program.
